My path into coaching wasn’t built in comfort; it was forged in adversity. I grew up in an environment where survival often felt like the only goal, yet I refused to accept that as my ceiling. Through years of setbacks, I discovered the power of relentless growth, of rising a little higher each day, no matter how heavy the weight of life felt. That philosophy—Kaizen—became my anchor.
Now, I bring that same philosophy to every client I work with. My mission is simple: to help high-performing individuals not just manage their health, but elevate it, so they can sustain their success, enjoy their freedom, and leave behind a legacy of strength.

The best thing I've done for my health has been to work with Jedd Ramos @ Kaizen Fitness. He prepared me for my hip replacement surgery with exercises that improved my balance, mobility, and strength. I went from barely being able to squat and lunge without tipping over (and needing to hold onto the wall,) to doing the same exercises with 20 pound weights! His understanding of anatomy, kinesieology, nutrition, and mindfullness and ability to explain it to me so that I understood helped me improve all aspects of my health. After surgery, I was better prepared for recovery. My surgeon and physical therapists were amazed at my progress. Three months after surgery (after graduating from physical therapy,) I started back up with my training with Jedd so I can continue working towards better strength and mobility. As this was my second hip replacement, I felt such a difference in how much stronger I was after surgery and my improved balance in doing everyday tasks. He's helping me train for my first outrigger paddle race now!
I'm in my late 50s and after 3 cervical fusion surgeries and 4 levels of fused vertebrae in my neck, I went from being an athlete, to be able to only do a minor workout. My physical limitations two years post-op really changed my enjoyment of life. I searched for personal trainers in the area and Kaizen Fitness came up with excellent reviews. I spoke to Jedd on the phone and decided to sign up, but to be honest I was still wary I could start with a personal trainer again. You never know how much someone can help you until you are doing the work with them. I've been training with Jedd for two months now and he has already brought me to a level I didn't think was possible. I can lift things and do physical work around the house and feel like a normal person again. I no longer feel like a lifetime surgery patient. I'm looking forward to seeing where we will be in another six months. Aside from the personal training, in between breaks, I have great discussions with Jedd. Used to be overweight. Now, bench pressing over my body weight, squatting over 1.5x BW, and deadlifting over 2x BW. Pants five inches smaller and down three sizes on T-shirts. I am a recently retired physical therapist, who worked for over 30 years in physical therapy and massage therapy. I first met Jedd when he was working as a fitness trainer at the Nuuanu YMCA in Honolulu, Hawaii. At the time we met, the hospital I worked for decided to close their home care program, so I lost my job as a full time home care physical therapist along with 300+ healthcare workers who worked for the same hospital. I had a.minor heart attack over 10 years ago. Jedd pulled me through and got me back from not being able to do a single pushup to a biological age of 60 whereas I am chronologically 85. Since then I’ve had a few medical issues including prostate cancer five years ago. My PSA has been undetectable since then B . Recently, I’ve had some knee problems. Previously, I had ‘corrective surgery.’ Not wanting to go through surgery again he has helped me considerably. He showed me a number of exercises to the point that I only have minor problems and even those are diminishing. All in all, he has been patient, always encouraging as well as continuing to keep me moving forward much to my pleasure.

I hired Jedd as a trainer over a year ago to help me build strength so that I could lift and care for my medically fragile son as a single mom as he grew without getting injured (he was already 4' tall at the time). Some sessions (when I didn't have nursing coverage and couldn't leave the house) we only had a sliver of floor space in the condo. He held my dog while going through the sessions so I could complete the exercises unbothered. Every session is different, and he meets you where you are at, in any situation, so you have no excuses. He is highly knowledgeable about fitness, nutrition, supplements, anything health related. He is not a stereotypical "gym rat" or what you might think a personal trainer might be like. There is ZERO creepy factor to him. As a woman, that is a huge plus!!! Respectful, professional, courteous. What I didn't expect is the positive effect it has had on my mental health. My son ended up passing away, and continuing to work out with Jedd on a regular basis has made a huge impact on my healing and moving forward. There is a massive mind body connection, and he is very knowledgable about all that as well. I highly recommend his services!

Kaizen Fitness is not your typical personal trainer experience. I grew up as a water girl; multiple water sports, but I have never did a land work out other than PE. If you ever asked if I work out, I would’ve said, “hah, no.” I am one who doesn’t like to feel the aches and pain in the few days that follow each workout. At a low point in my life I decided to try it, in my mind “I had nothing to lose. If I don’t like it, I finish the sessions and stop. If I do, then great.” Here is where my journey with Jedd started. I was pretty quiet and expressed when I didn’t like certain exercises. However, I still had to do them. I continued to do them and trained on days in-between my sessions. I would zone out by turning on some music that would let out my emotions and pushed through the exercises. It became easier and easier, I also lost a lot of weight that I had to buy new shorts and pants. Jedd would tell me when others noticed and mentioned to him that I lost weight too. I didn’t even notice it at first until my clothes started fitting differently. Keep in mind, my goal wasn’t to lose weight. It was simply to try something new, get “toned” which apparently is suppose to be “lean”, and that was it. Even though at this current day I am not continuing what I did then, I learned a lot and it helped me get through a tough time in my life. I also know now what I am capable of and just need to adjust my mindset to get there again. I have all the tools he taught me and will be on the road to journey there again, just with different goals this time.
